Looking for the right mk6 fiesta

Featured Replies

Hey all

New to the forum, i currently drive a vw T4, she needs abit of work doing an im putting to much mileage on her so wanting to rekindle my love for the good old fiesta as a daily run about! Had loads of mk3s when i was younger and loved everyone! Quite fancy a mk6… does anyone have any advice on what to look out for when buying an possibly any for sale??

Rust is the main thing to look for on Mk6's now.  Chassis, bodywork, suspension, brake pipes, etc.

This one might be worth an ask?

I'd recommend you try and get one of the very last Fiesta Mk6.5 2008 models. They were well equipped and had a nicer dashboard compared to the earlier Mk6.

This is a lovely example, perhaps a little over priced but worth £3650 if a deal could be struck.

Blimey, I sold a 2008 ST150 for about £2000 10 years ago!  Used car prices are mad nowadays.

They still seem to be around. Often turn up on owners forums at anywhere from the £2k mark up to very strong money for the last 2008 cars with low miles. One went recently on fiestoc.com  at £4850 with 55k miles!

Prices for everything seem nuts to me nowadays. £5 for a pint!

Just spotted another for around the £3,500 mark. Higher mileage but looks very tidy and I like that the seller's included an underbody shot!

That one looks remarkably similar to my old one.  Same colour paint, wheels and calipers!

Different reg though.  Just checked, mine hasn't been MOTd since 2021.

What were those Taiwanese tyres like, Tom?

Duplicated post - dodgy Wi-Fi in the Dales!

Lets not start that again!

(Better than the Chinese ones, obviously!)

President Xi would tell you they are Chinese, but no, let's not pursue that one!😀

I've got Chinese ditch finders on my X2 at the moment.

And, let me tell you, I haven't found any ditches, yet.

But what I have found is, they don't understeer as much as the, £220 each, Conti 6s and they're quieter and a bit softer (run flats are a nause)

A rating Rain, C rating Fuel and £127 each

A lot of people need to get their heads out of the ditch-finder ideals

Remember, a lot of people buy Audis believing they are better than Skodas

Tbf, they are in some ways.

I bought a Seat a few years ago, expecting it to be the same as the equivalent VW, and was sorely disappointed!  They seemed to have forgotten all of the sound deadening for a start.

Not the first time I made that mistake though, I also bought an Audi a couple of years earlier, and they seemed to have left the suspension out of that one.

The Golf was the best in terms of comfort and noise.  VAG cars are not all produced equally.
