i bought a horn from Temu and it arrived looks ok,all shiny however it has 2 terminals. and the old one only has one

Now the reason i am doing this as mine sounds like a strangulated goose!!i have a fiesta 2007 zetec 1.4 5 door.

now i thought it was just plug and play,buy nothing,its not a question of putting one terminal to earth as its earthed on top to a bracket next to the body work.

i have noticed from the imageincluded that the little serrated washer on the top is missing,could this be why its not working??

Any advice to rectify this would be great

That washer won't make a difference.

If it earths through the bracket, that needs be a clean connection, no rust or paint on it.

Have you tried putting a spare bit of cable direct to the top post to check it definitely works like that?

It won't earth through the mounting bracket! A horn with two terminals needs two wires.

You will need to add an earth wire from the spare terminal on the horn to earth (use the mounting bracket bolt).

You need to connect the terminal with the black plastic shield (see your photo) to a good earth point.

can i use either terminal to attach the wire,can i just twist the wire onto the other terminal and around a bolt on the bodywork!!

You can but it won't last long and you will be doing it again..

Do it properly and give it a good earth..

Don't forget the horns can be adjusted...it's under the black grommet..
