3rd gear

Featured Replies

So I replaced my clutch.  Everything was good before.

now tho. 2nd to third is stiff like it won’t go into 3rd but if you try 4th that’s stiff too. If you come down the box from 5th to 4th to 3rd it all works good.

my question is could I have knocked the gear selectors slightly by a turn on the thread ? Would this make a difference?

The gear cables are easy to reset, so that's definitely worth a try.

Though if they work fine when stationary, and when coming down the box, I'm not convinced it's a cable fault.

Morning.

so I hadn’t actually checked this.  When parked engine off it still doesn’t go into gear sometimes so my initial thought of the synchromesh cannot be true and it seams I need to adjust the selector

Is the new clutch aligned properly?
