Mk7.5 locking wheel nut key

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I don't come here often as the wife's little Fiesta just keeps on working!

However, I've had something of a minor disaster today after having a couple of tyres fitted. I've retorqued all the wheel nuts and managed to leave the key on one of the wheels. She's been shopping and unsurprisingly I no longer have the key!

Now, I'm in no urgent need of removing the wheel so what next?

I'm quite capable of removing the locking wheel nuts (I have a MIG and I'm not afraid to use it! 🙂) but before I do that, is there a simple (and I mean inexpensive!) way of identifying which key I need and acquiring one?

Fingers crossed in anticipation!

Cheers,

Have a look here, photo/number on slip and new key from e-Bay would likely be my choice:

If it's these sort of locking wheel nuts

Just use a 16mm or 17mm socket and hammer it on and use a wrench to remove as normal..that's the cheaper way

It's the later type but thanks.

As it is, I've resolved the issue by ordering a set of replacement nuts (non-locking) and will be replacing them all when they arrive after removing the locking ones with the aid of a mig welder and throwing them in the bin.

Well done

Done the same
