AC troubles

Featured Replies

My van has ac, got it topped up last year, all good no leaks etc. this year it’s not playing games. Clutch not engaging. I have forscan and looked for the obvious. I know it’s not 215 degrees in the car but have no idea where the sensor is for that. Looked behind heater controls (manual controls)  and little grille by knee, nothing.even went and annoyed the parts department at hendy ford my me. He was at a loss also. I also suspect the ac pressure sensor isn’t upto much as I can swear it read 50kpa the first time I looked. Any help greatly appreciated

thanks guysIMG_2386.thumb.jpeg.40ed4cdcfd173aa3e02838f64001e81f.jpeg

Has the gas actually been checked since this fault started?  It only takes a second on the motorway for a 70mph stone to pierce the condenser and all the gas to leak out.  Having it regassed last year is completely irrelevant.

If the van has completely manual temps dials, without any temp number showing on a screen, there won't be temp sensor inside the car.

In the case oif no temp sensor, could that mean that the in car temp is a default value?
Only clue I can give you is that DEATC S-Max internal temp sensor is inside steering column lower cover and has a small computer type fan bowing air over it?

Otherwise, as said, it will need full diagnosis like Dan does which may offer some clues?:

Manual Air Conditioning does not have a temperature sensor, only models fitted with full automatic climate control will have a sensor.

Thanks for the help. Why is the incar temp option even there if it’s not fitted? I’m going to call a pro tomorrow.

The software is designed to cover all models.  Those without a sensor fitted will just get a default value.

You were spot on! £90 to have it fixed and re-gassed. Well happy with that
