mk5 cranking but not starting ?

Featured Replies

hi folks, we have a Mk 5 sometimes it cranks but doesn't start, wait a few mins and it starts other times it starts no problem

changed the coil pack, still the same, I can hear the petrol pump running before I try to start it

is there a relay that feeds the coil pack ? (thinking could be fauty relay ?)

anything else  I should look at ?

hi m8, could try obd, see any faults, so many sensors these days, guess you tried plugs and air filters, maf sensors may need a clean, but only use proper maf cleaner if you do, good luck

no faults showed on OBD test, Got a DS150e tester and software so bit more than basic tests

it can give Live Data but not sure what Live test I should do when car is running

as its an inttermittant faut its a pain to find, but If it was a sensor fault it would have a log record
