Fiesta shift indicator

Featured Replies

I've been looking at some videos of people driving other Fiestas. All MK7.5.

My 2015 MK7.5 titanium X with the 1.0 ecoboost, has the upshift arrow, just like they all do, but I've noticed some of them show which gear to shift into. Mine doesn't show a number, just an arrow. Anyone got any idea why some show which gear to go into and some show just an arrow? Thanks

Do you need an arrow to tell you when to change up ? 🤔

I would just assume it's a change during production ("policy of continuous improvement" etc).

I had 2 Mk 7s with just the shift arrow, both my Mk 8s had/have the numbers. Both versions equally  pointless imo.

No I don’t but my brother has recently turned 17 and hasn’t got his own car yet, and is using it to learn occasionally between his lessons. Just thought it would be helpful for him to get his head around gears better, as he’s not got a clue what he’s doing

I can see your logic there, but still better to learn based on engine sound and rpm in my view.

We get many posts regarding the engine "labouring" because the driver has changed up too early based on the shift indicator, which can't possibly take account of what the driver can see. I've had mine telling me to go to 6th when I'm in 2nd and approaching a 25% gradient, for example!
