Missing drainage hole rubber grommet

Featured Replies

Hello everyone

I have a 2024 Ford Focus Active X estate. There are 3 rounded rectangular holes inside the bottom edge of the tailgate. The left and right both have a black rubber grommet, but the centre one is bare. Should this also have a grommet in it? If so, please can you advise the part number and where I might find one.

Many thanks for all your help.

Hi,

I think it could be this part.  However, the catalogue suggests there are only 2 per car, so the central hole may never have had one.  I don't know whether all the 3 holes are the same size.

If all three of mine had bungs in they would be in the bin now.

They aren't solid, they've got small holes at each end.

The reason that the centre hole doesn't have a drain grommet fitted is that it simply is too deep to fit. the outer skin of the tailgate is very near to the inner skin at the centre which reduces the available space.

I've no doubt this problem was probably only discovered once the car was in production and so after a lengthy executive meting down the pub, it was decided just to leave it out 🤣
