Glove Box Illumination Failure

Featured Replies

Hi All

So recently my glove box light has stopped working

It was not a sudden stop, it began by flickering a fair bit whenever glove box was opened

But then just no longer working

After working out how to lower glove box to gain access to rear, I found that both wires had broken from the glove box light switch, see pictures (if I can get them to upload)

I figured that as the wires were routed a bit tight to the switch on my car, that this is why they broke

I removed the pins from the switch one at a time, carefully prised the crimps open, recrimped the wire and also soldered in place, fitting each wire into switch as it was done

I also made sure that the loom was rerouted to give enough slack to prevent the wires from breaking again

Happy Motoring

Dave

Hope you made sure to get the wires the right way round, or you will have turned the light in to a darkness maker😂
