Problem with loading central config

Featured Replies

Hi all

I have just got myself a 2018 C-Max and have fitted a towbar and electrics to it.

I want to change the setting in the "central config" but am having a problem loading central config  with both "ForScan" & "foCCCus".

Each time i tried with both softwares the car just shut down and reset the trip, mpg, ect ect.

foCCCus did give me a error message about ECU security.

Any help in understanding why this is happening would be much appreciated.

Are you using a windows laptop connected with a 'vLinker FS' cable ?

Have you got the FORScan licence ?

Have you fitted a genuine Ford Trailer module ?

Hi

No its a ECS wireing kit "FR063D1U".

My problem is more to do with not being able to acess the central config as i want to change a coulpe of other setting when in there.

I am using windows 10 from my laptop and im using a OBDLINK EX Adapter to connect to the car.

I can access everything else in forscan and im using the free licence.

My last car was a 2013 Mondeo and i had no problem connecting to it using ForScan.

What I notice is that, from Forscan, there are two parameters on ours: Towbar and Trailer Module that appear to have been altered when the towbar and dedicated module were fitted.

AFAIK you'll need the licence (or trial period) to actually make changes plus the "secondary bootloader" IIRC

Has your 2 months free trial licence not expired ?

No, 15th June it runs out. I then just renew it when i need it next.

The FoCCCus program does not support the later Focus MK3.5 and C-Max MK2.5 /Kuga MK2.5 models. The development of the FoCCCus program was discontinued by the original developer before these models were introduced.

The Forscan software is fully developed in Russia. The C-Max is not particularly common in Russia and is electronically also somewhat different from the Focus and Kuga. It is highly likely that the BCM version is not yet fully supported by Forscan.

If this is the case it can be solved by the programmers of Forscan. Support however is only offered to (paid) licensed Forscan users. The developers will make a testbuild and if that turns out to be succesful the changes will be incorporated into future Forscan versions.

Delete profile then make sure the laptop is fully connected to the internet before trying to connect to the vehicle again.
