Navigation and Map Updates

Featured Replies

Hi all,

New member here.

Previous cars were, Escort XR3 and XR3i, Fiesta XR2, Orion 1.6i Ghia.

After a long break, I'm back with my latest Ford, the new Focus ST Line and I'm wondering if anyone can help with the following.....

I've completed the first part of the Sync update successfully however, the Sync to Maps option is still greyed out and I'm unable to select it, pic attached.

Anyone know how I can download part 2 of the update please?

Any help, suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Did you send your log file back to the Ford servers so it knows that you have updated part one ?

I didn't unfortunately, I've read about this earlier so I'll do that, thanks for the reminder, much appreciated

Just a quick update on this. I spoke to a lovely lady at Ford today who advised that they no longer accept the update via log file.

Once you've completed the first part of the Sync update, you have to wait around 2 weeks until Ford notify you of the update being completed then you can proceed with part 2 of the update which is the Maps update.

Hope that helps 🙏🏻

At your local Ford dealership or some other Ford location ?

It was over the phone

Ok.

I'll ask the question differently. When you spoke to the lovely lady (on the phone), was she at your local Ford dealer or was she at Ford's customer relationship centre?

Hi Mark

The 2 weeks the nice lady at  Ford's customer relationship centre told you could turn into months as some of us have suffered. That was even when they were still taking the log file. I forget the number of fortnightly calls I had from them saying "the team are still working on it".

Thanks for the heads-up on this. Looks like you're right as every evening I check and there's another version to update on part 1 so god knows when I'll eventually get to part 2.

I'll answer the question differently.

The lovely lady I spoke to (on the phone) was at Ford's customer relationship centre.
