Replacement engine.

Featured Replies

Evening people, new to the forum but had a few fords over the years, currently working on a mk4 mondeo titanium x 2012 , fitted replacement engine and the car won’t respond/start no turn over just immobiliser on, power steering issues, key not detected. If I disconnect battery and refit the fob works fine but start button dose nothing, any thing I’m missing, been told to check fuses but I’m thinking computer says no. Cheers Rob.

Which engine ? Is it a diesel ?

If you use FORScan it should give you a reason for the non-crank. From what you have said it sounds like the immobiliser is active. On many Ford diesel engines the engine fuel pump is part of the PATS immobiliser system.

Change the diesel pump. Fit the original pump from the original engine.

This has been done already as I was advised , I’m still getting immobiliser active , engine malfunction, power steering issue, I’ve had battery on charge over night, fob opens and shuts doors, lights and radio work but no ignition atm .

Has the ABS pump been changed ?

You need to use FORScan and get the Ford DTC which will tell you why the immobiliser is active.

The keyfob locking and unlocking has nothing to do with the PATS security immobiliser. You haven't just replaced the keyfob while you have been doing the engine swap have you ?

Have you tried the key fob in the emergency position?

So you are saying the car now does NOT have it's original ABS pump ? Is that correct ?

AND

You are saying that the engine has been fitted with the original fuel pump ? Is that correct ?
