Limp mode

Featured Replies

Hi all, car (Ford fiesta mk7.5 FL BASE 1.5TDCI 2015) gone into limp mode after 10-20mins driving, spanner light pops up on dash. When I turn car off and on light disappears and runs like normal and repeats the cycle. Scanned car and reads P2279 intake air leak, I’ve had all pipes off and no leaks. Smoke test done no leaks. Any idea why cars in limp mode and reading this code. Thanks

Welcome!

I am only giving this because of the propane torch idea and perhaps PCV valve:
https://cartreatments.com/p2279/

Which this also suggests:
https://www.obd-codes.com/p2279

Only other thing I'd say is that if it is a a generic EOBD (read cheap!) code reader it may not give all of the codes present (search Forscan123 on here) plus scan when the fault is on.

Otherwise I'll wait to see what the Petrolheads say...

The 1.5 tdci don’t have a pcv valve? I thought it has a CVS or CVD I could be wrong tho

I think it will (all car do to relieve crankcase pressure and allow the fumes to be passed to the inlet manifold, unless I'm mistaken which is quite possible) and I don't understand CVC or CVD so, again, where are the Petrolheads!!!
