Hi all, new here. I have a problem with the wifes 2015 C-Max.

 

it is a titanium with F&R parking sensors and Rear camera .

 

on start up, she is getting a parking aid malfunction fault. Sensors do not work and nor does the reverse camera.

 

i ran forscan and the only fault im getting is a U0159 code and no PSCM communication PAM A

 

here is readout. Can anyone shed light?

First, are you using FORScan to read the DTC's or some generic code reader ?

Second was the car originally built with the equipment or has some one tried to retro fit it ?

I used Forscan and i believe it is all OEM equipment.

i have no other fault codes on the vehicle, apart from the one above

 

i have checked fuses and PAM module. All are ok

Are you using the vLinker FS cable with FORScan ?

Ah Ha !!! 😀

That will most likely be why you are having communication problems. Vehicles built 2013 onwards need to be connected using the 'vLinker FS' cable which auto switches between the MS and HS canbus and has a higher data transfer speed. The current versions of FORScan no longer properly supports the old Elm327 cable.

 

Can confirm your car was factory fitted with front and rear parking sensors and camera

seems extreme if so

Yes, one faulty rear sensor can disable the whole of the rear parking sensors, but not the camera.

I wonder if a module has reset and disabled the camera?

i have had to update the sync system recently

Disconnect the negative lead of the battery for 20 minutes.

Reconnect it and WAIT for 5 minutes before turning the ignition back on. This will reboot all modules.

Water ingress in PAM in boot, that why it's lost COMMs.

PAM will be in rear 1/4 covers/panels

Remove or find PAM and read full Ford part number on it xxxx-xxxxx-xx

Ensure 2nd hand replacement PAM is "exactly " the same part number, not one letter or number can be different

Fit replacement PAM, it will be plug & play

That ELM will read that C=Max OK

So, i have scanned with the vlinker lead and i am still getting the above fault

Did you delete the car's previous profile from the laptop, and then make FORSacn do a full reload of all modules ?

If you used the existing profile then it won't look for additional modules.

Right ok, i think i might have found the problem.

 

i went into the back and removed module and camera module, when i found this

someone has been at the wires bedore and i know they were not paired up correctly

does anyone have a wiring schematics or a part number to the loom itself?
