I've fitted the camera today ready and tried to calibrate it in Forscan, let it idle for 60 seconds then drove until bar reached 100% but it never finishes the procedure and when I press stop in forscan then engine off and back on again it still says camera malfunction. Am I supposed to drive until the procedure stops itself ?

Has to be a bidirectional ABS wheel speed sensor to retro fit pre collision braking I'm afraid. My car was never fitted with them.

I hate people on the internet who (instead of helping) tell someone NOT to do the thing they are trying to do...

...but don't do it.  I have to drive a vehicle with some clever (factory) anti-collision system, and it's BAD to the level of being dangerous.

Really..... don't do it.  (sorry)

You may be able to find the Reg Number of a car for sale through Autotrader or similar that has what you need fitted from the factory and use that Reg Number to get the part from Ford.

I can turn it off if it becomes annoying, I have to say having enabled the pre collision detection already it doesn't come on that often (the warning on the dash and loud noise)

For example this 2022 Fiesta with automatic parking

Reg: LK22 MBY    VIN: WF0JXXGAHJNY09517

3.42/1.96/1.28/0.94/0.76/0.63
reverse parking aid
front parking aid
advanced automated park system

Thanks I'll go back to ford with those details and see what they say. Don't know why they are so hard to get really. It's not an old car. I tried it before with a. Reg no from a car sales site but they said no. Even sent them the photo saying this is what I want.. code on the physical cable 😂

Ford said they don't have that part number  2148278

What I've had to do is have it sent to Poland via LAGA and then someone's going to pick it up in 2 weeks when passing through on holiday 😂 things we do for modding...

If I don't get them this time then it's God's way of saying don't bother as the family friend is a polish ordained priest who's getting them for me 😂 😇

After fitting the Camera forever ago! Today I finally fitted the correct suggested ABS sensors, a few clicks and configs later all DTC cleared.

Originally set to level 1 Gen 1 and brakes didn't kick in when the dashboard warning comes up.

Changed to Level 2 Gen 2 now, will re-test tomorrow. ( Last setting would be 3 Gen 3 )

Fingers crossed ..

Supposedly they are also used for retro fitting OEM reversing sensors

No thats wrong, I already did OEM reversing sensors, all that required is rear loom and sensors, holders and a module for £15 on eBay. I already did that last year. Works a treat and comes up on screen screen with diagram.

I believe that the mk8 that require to retro fit front AND rear parking sensors and has the requirement of a PAM (some don't like my mk7.5), require these ABS sensors (see https://www.forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17697 )

Correct its same module for front and read sensors you can activate just the rear or both if you have them, no ABS sensors need changing for parking sensors.
