Heated Seats MK8 Fiesta Retrofit

Featured Replies

Hi, Looking for help retrofitting heated seats to my MK8 Fiesta

I've spent some time with a multimeter on the seats and i think ive worked out what each pin to the seats is doing and where it needs to go on the HVAC however im confused about what ford calls " Return " from the heater sense.

Fords digram says it needs to go to pin 2 on the HVAC however pin 2 on the hvac is 12v to the passenger heated seat element so very reluctant to put 12v down a wire i dont know what it does.

I've uploaded my diagram with the seat pin numbers, what they do and where im sure they go on the hvac and the diagram from ford showing pin 1 and 2 on the hvac being 12v.

Any help apreciated and i hope my fumblings will help someone else in the future.

Ok all working now, I knew that ford circuit diagram had to be wrong.

Here's the correct wiring diagram and a nice pic of the seats in use lol

yeah i did haha. but i did wait until it was dark and ran the AC for 10 mins 😄

Heres a HVAC pinout i made to better understand the circuits as i didnt have the wires in my loom so had to repin it, its in addition to the above in case its needed.

hi, im doing the same thing, fitted oem seats, climate control panel, just need to program, but i was wondering if i need the n37 (20A) fuse in the engine bay box, i Was looking at it but inside there is no connections for this fuse, Just an empty slot without pins

the seat connector have all pins and so with the plug behind the control panel, in fact it lights up like the seats are turned on but they wont heat ( i need to program them via forscan)

The way I did mine was to run my own main feed from the battery into a mini fuse box with separate fuses under the passenger footwells area by the BCM, also added a few extra things that required high power, like the rear electric windows etc.

I think it was this one from Amazon, if not then it was a smaller 4 way. I soldered all the connectors on one side to make a bus bar then plugged in the individual ones after the fuse on the other side.

It was too much hassle to run from the main fuse box when you can easily get a wire from battery through the existing grommet.
