Edge power

Featured Replies

Hi I have a 2019 edge had a year trouble free, however 2 months ago driving on the motorway put my foot down went into all wheel drive and then the dreaded orange spanner appeared and into limp mode, pulled over turned it off and back on it had disappeared if I drove slowly and didn’t go into all wheel drive then the car didn’t go into limp mode, been with a garage for 3-4 weeks now, they have changed the high pressure fuel pump and and oil solinoid and now they are looking at the ECU for issues.
has anyone got any other ideas for this wonderful car before I have to get rid ☹️

This sounds more like an issue with the transmission & transfer than the engine & fuel system.

Can you force these to hold 2WD mode under hard acceleration or is it all automatic?  Not sure which system the Edge uses for AWD?

Is this at a main Ford dealership, or at an independent garage ?

Having delt with a similar problem on a Focus RS, I would say the problem is with the rear transfer case. The fault codes will only show using Ford equipment or using FORScan.

That's not Forscan.
