Help programming key FOB

Featured Replies

Hello !

I wrote the same question on the FORScan forum, but there are more nuns on a bar than people in there

My Fiesta 2014/2015 FOB (south america) started to fail over time, so I bought two new ones from Aliexpress

...and I'm failing to program them:

I turn the key 8 times to position (II) where it should stay, but I hear a (short) sound alert only if I bring the key back to OFF.
According to instructions, it should alert (long) on position (II), after the eighth turn.

I tried pressing buttons from ALL* the FOBs, before and after the alert, but nothing happens.

- The FOB I had working since forever was also bought from Aliexpress and programmed by me. Possibly the same seller. Same thing for my fourth and eldest FOB of them all*
- I made sure to buy of the right frequency: 433
- All new batteries.

- Is the immobilizer/alarm the problem ?
(4 FOBs* and none of them working is kind of suspicious)
- Is there a way to use generic scanner to read the FOBs ?

Overall, there are no fault codes (bluetooth ELM327 over Infocar)

*Four FOBs in total: Two of them I bought just now. The third is the one that started failing, and the fourth is one I abandoned in some drawer. Not 100% sure if this last one is still programmed. I did not erase it.

Most UK and European models 2013 and onwards can not have the PATS immobiliser programmed using anything other than the Ford main dealers equipment.

Hello !

I forgot to close the topic

There was a mix of problems in my case:

I measured the FOBs battery, and it had exactly 3V. Later, I learned those batteries actually have much more than this nominal 3V. In fact, 3V will not make the FOB work.

Another part of the problem: the manual says to turn from position 0 to II eight times, then back to 0. Other manual I happened to find on the net said that I have to go from II to 0 eigth times. This one worked.
