Charging light

Featured Replies

Hi all

Have a weird fault but unable to cure it

C max 2011 1.6d

Alternator light goes out after starting but comes back on after 30 seconds and stays on

Garage can't find the fault as it's charging at 13.7 volts under load or not

No starting faults and has been like this for 10 days now

Any ideas ??

The SmartCharge isn't working.  13.7v is the default failsafe.

Usually the small wire from the alternator plug broken.  Have an auto electrician check it as the regular garage have reached their limits.
