Just thought id share a repair cost my garage charged me, for those whoever wonder.

both handbrake cables replaced and tested. £360 incl VAT

I've looked at this and it seems like the exhaust system (corroded nuts needing some level of brutality etc) and those probably corroded heat shields (lots?) would have to be removed before the cables can be accessed then they would have to be removed (pointless renewing just one?) presumably relatively straightforward if the teeny nuts haven't rusted?
Then refit and adjustment at the front then refit all heat shields and exhaust (accounting for previous brutality))
Parts £55? labour at whatever it is  - £80+/hr if you're lucky (I have no real idea and any difficulties that added on to the job - my estimate max 3 hrs (including tea breaks) being generous so about £300? 2 hours may be more realistic without issues?
I'd no longer attempt this myself any more as good access via a lift would be crucial so any other more accurate estimates/prices would help as I feel this job may be necessary soon.
