Couple of lock related issues 2017 Grand C-Max

Featured Replies

Hi, I have bought a 2017 Grand C-Max which was damage repaired and I suspect the issues may be related but don't want to assume hence after some advice. For awareness, the repair was to replace the 2 passenger side doors hence me thinking the issues are probably related.

The seller didn't hide these issues and sold me the car in good faith. I was happy to take it as the issues weren't deal breakers and I got the car at a good price overall

1st Issue, the keyless doesn't work on the passenger side front or rear doors but does on the drivers side front, rear and boot. I have ready that there is a setting on the dashboard but only thing I can find is mykey which doesn't seem to relate to the the locking. Is there a setting anywhere else that I should be checking?

2nd Issue, child lock alert as soon as I start the car

I'm wondering if the handles on the replacement doors aren't compatible or if there are additional sensors or something of that nature I need to get and / or there may be some wiring that I need to check. A plug not plugged in or harness compatibility issue with the replacement doors.

If anyone can point me in the right direction for things to check I would appreciate it

They've fitted donor doors and sprayed to match

They have also fitted the donor car's doors with the donor car's harnesses and latch mechanisms

Try to see if seller still has original doors, you need the original components

Hi, I have tried that but they have been disposed of, can you let me know what parts would be different so that I can look to source them please?

The main door harnesses and the lock/latch mechanisms

You will need to go to a Ford parts dept to find out the part numbers of the front latch and harness as they differ, left to right, then source those parts from a scrappy.

The rear harness and latch can be picked up from the right hand door, see what is fitted to the RH rear door and source the left hand versions from a scrappy

The RH Rear harness will be a 14632 so you will need an exact match but with 14633 as the base number

E.G RH door harness fitted  is AH52 14632 AA, you will need to source a AH52 14633 AA

The RH rear latch will be a 24994 so you will need to source a 24995 matching

You will probably need the keyless door handles too, I would imagine and paint to match

RH & LH is as viewed as if you are sitting in the driver's seat👍
