EGR coolant valve.

Featured Replies

Good afternoon. I suspect my 2018 vignale with a 2 litre duratec engine might have a faulty EGR valve?

It's seems to be losing a tiny amount of water.I have to top it up now and again. I've replaced the expansion bottle cap. Temp gauge sits in the middle. I have not lossed power,no white smoke from exhaust doing about 38/40 to the gallon. I had the vapouriser replaced not long ago because it developed a fault. Cannot see any visible leaks

Therefore do you 🤔 it could be the EGR coolant valve? Would a pressure test highlight this issue? I know a pressure test will highlight leaking hoses and sofore.

I'm not worried about the cost as I'm got an extended warranty.

Thank you fore your help on my query.

I had my coolant level going down like you, ever so slightly for around 2-3 years. Off the top of my head, topped up something like 5 litres over that time. No other symptoms like you. Put a bottle of rad weld in and the coolant level hasn't moved since and that was around a year ago. Maybe worth a try?
