2008 cmax fuse 103 keeps blowing

Featured Replies

Hi, i have a 2008 ford cmax 1.6 petrol. I'm having a problem with no tail lights, reg lights and front side lights. They work if I turn the switch to the left (p) position but not to the right. Low and hi beam work, brake, indicator, reverse, and foglights all work. When I turn the switch to the right it keeps blowing fuse number 103. Has anyone ever experienced this before? Hope to here back of someone,  thanks

So you are looking to find a light or lights that come on when the switch is turned to the right, but they don't come on when the snitch is turned to the left.

For example: The internal instrument lights, the illuminated switches don't light when the switch is in park, but they do light when the switch is in the normal on position. Has for example the radio unit been replaced with an after market one ?

Hi sorry for the late reply,

So the internal switches, number plate lights, front side lights and rear tail lights aren't working. Keeps blowing fuse number 103.

I have fitted a aftermarket stereo as the original kept playing up.

Do you think its something to do with the stereo?

Thanks

Yes.

Completely disconnect the stereo and see if the fault goes away.

Unfortunately it hasn't worked. Just keeps popping the fuse 103

To try and narrow down the circuit that is faulty, do the following:

Remove fuses - F117 - F124 - F125

Fit a new good fuse in F103 and see if it still blows with those other 3 fuses removed.

If fuse F103, does not blow then try replacing each of the fuses that have been removed. Do it one at a time. Putting one of those 3 fuses back will cause F103 to blow again but at least we will know which circuit is at fault.
