Brakes won't release after ***** up 2018 ford torneo courier

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have a bit of a problem.

The brakes on my courier getting more  stuck if breaking  and won't "release"  how can I reset the brakes?

Additional information: the car was fine previousexcept the top brake light was permanently one and no difference in brightness when putting on the brake, googled this came up with faulty brake light switch! Replaced still faulty turned out wrong bulbs!!   Now sorted except the breaks are not realising

Can anybody tell me if I can reset the brakes somehow?

Thanks Peter

No.

It sounds like either stuck brake callipers that will need replaced, or you have an ABS fault.

Have you used FORScan to see if there are any Ford specific DTC's stored ?

Hi unofix,

no I haven't got any tools

All I can think is we been pressing the brake pedal a lot as I was struggeling to twist the switch into its place

But now  the brakes/ pedal get tighter and getvthe brakes stuck 😞

That sounds more like the switch isn't fitted fully in place and it is partly holding down the brake pedal.

I think you need to check that something is not stuck and causing a problem with the pedal.

Yeah that makes sense,  cheers unofix going to double check things.

Again thank you unofix 👍

Sorted just like that

If anybody wants to know I released the switch ( turn clockwise)  as the switch moved upwards the pedal came back up  and this time I turned the switch to secure

( anti clockwise) with the pedal up and the pin of the switch pushed in guess what

All sorted, guess I just needed somebody to tell me to check it over!
