cmax 65 plate 1.5 diesel.  just had a service and was told the rear shocks were leaking so i had them renewed, the following day the tpms light came on fault on dash was loss of connection, i reset it on the steering wheel but after approx 6 miles the light comes back on same fault. i had already booked the car in for 4 new tyres ,so i also fitted 4 new tpms sensors as i presumed the ones on the car were original and were going flat. new tyres fitted new sensors fitted, put the car through the learn sequence and got a horn beep from all 4 sensors and the dash said learning complete. drove the car home and after six miles the light came back on but the dash error now says tpms requires service. the light goes off again from resting from the steering wheel but just come back on after 6 miles. could they have damaged something doing the rear shocks as i cannot see why i keep getting the error.

Were the correct TPMS sensors fitted ? There are 4 basic types that Ford use.

i believe so they looked the same, little sensor which is screwed to the bottom of a valve. i used my registration when buying them, they were not from ford though as they were unavailable.  

They all 'look the same' but that does not mean they are the same.
