TPMS warning – experience with replacement valves?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I’m a new member on the forum. I drive a 2016 Ford C-Max 1.5 TDCi.

Last spring I bought a set of used alloy wheels for summer tyres. After a few months, I started having issues with the TPMS system.

The warning appears every time I start the car. At the moment the car is on steel wheels with winter tyres, and the behaviour of the warning is not the same compared to the summer wheels.

I was offered a TPMS valve replacement at a service centre, but the price is quite high, so I’d like to ask whether anyone has:
– bought replacement TPMS sensors themselves (e.g. AliExpress),
– had them fitted at a tyre shop,
– and then paired / relearned them to the Ford system (FORScan, OBD tool, reset procedure).

Any real-world experience would be appreciated. I can provide more details if needed.
