Where do I start

Cmax titanium 1.6 diesel 2011

Started 5 weeks ago when driving the car Started juddering and a code of P1264..as I was at work I deleted the code and all was well for a week until it returned..this time it wouldn't delete..

I had a independent mechanic replace the injector number 4 and he recoded it but it still juddered badly and white smoked like nothing I had seen before..

Thought it was a faulty injector (Siemens vdo) so returned and was given a new lucas..fitted but made no difference..

I drove to a garage where the it had a faulty injector and needed a new egr valve..

It's still in the garage..it now dosent smoke but judders badly on start until upto temp and runs 90%better but pinks/knocks..

I have also had a compression test and it's fine..

No oil in water or water in oil..not losing any coolant or oil

Now stuck so any help would be much appreciated

And happy Christmas to all

As you've had TWO NEW injectors and the fault still says "Short (circuit?)" has the load integrity of the wiring (shorts across the leads or to Earth and perhaps looking inwards to ECU -(care/no warranty on that advice but resistance test only - I can't be responsible?) to that injector from the ECU been tested or could there be an actual fault in the ECU itself (hope not but wiring is my least worst option)?
This is still looking a bit intermittent AND more crucially, temperature related so what is getting hot to change the fault?

Will the ECU  need testing, almost last resort?:

And Forscan codes unless that is what the screenshot shows?

Garage has tested but now no faults show..they use a snap-on

Can only suggest waiting for fault to recur and reading codes (Forscan Bluetooth can be in your pocket, ready to do that - don't switch off)  whilst they are on plus, again, checking for chafed wiring somewhere or corrosion on connectors (especially if ECU is still under the wheelarch) plus whatever temperature related aspect can be looked at, otherwise, just ignore it...until something really fails?

Thanks for the reply and happy Christmas.

Been a week now and no codes appear..will next look for frayed cable or corrosion on connections..

Someone said that it's easier to replace injector loom so may look at that idea..

I will start with the corrosion part .

Just weird that once upto temp it runs 90% better  .

Is it definitely due to the same fault?
What about disconnecting that injector when it's warm or something similar? (I'm not quite sure abut my own logic!)
For longer term cleanliness and fuel pump life etc etc, I suggest Archoil:

Thanks for the link I will look into after this txt.

It sounds and feels like the same fault..

Changed fuel and air filter

Primed fuel filter but not high pressure line yet

Not changed oil or oil filter

Not cleaned intercooler as yet as it's still in the garage.

So more to ask garage on monday
