New bumper and bonnet for st line x edition

Featured Replies

I had a bump in my x edition, want to repair privately. Does anyone know if ford will supply new bumpers and bonnets painted? Looked around on ebay/gumtree and they're all battered and broken. Need to make the car pretty again

No, new parts come primed.

You will need to arrange to get the parts painted.

Where in the West Midlands are you?

If you're sort of close to Oldbury, Jt2 M5, there is a place near there called Portway Resprays, absolutely brilliant👍

Im near heartlands, ive been quoted 150-200 each for bumper and bonnet paint and fit. I called parts plus and got quotes on the bumper and bonnet, not as bad as i was expecting, just need to get all the little bits for the bumper grilles, under scoop and the fog light covers. Ill give those guys a call aswell. Thankyou!

That's actually not too bad

A couple of years back, I bought a 'pre painted' new wing for my Mk2. The paint match wasn't great and I thought I cold live with it anyway. I couldn't and ended up getting it properly painted! to match the car

So the replacement rad pack and crash bar i picked up had this square thing hanging off of it and i couldn't really figure it out and so after some digging it turns out this is a radar module for adaptive cruise control. Can i fit this to my car?

If you have the connector, yes

You'll also need to do a lot of other work to get ACC working though

Rod and end installed and professionally re aligned, car is back in full go kart mode. Good sigh for the cars overall structure after the bump?

Did you get a printout showing both front and rear alignment plus camber and castor? Will be lucky to get away with just a track rod if nothing else is bent.

They didn't do me a print out, They said there wasn't any damage just misaligned. The car is driving perfect again, its gotta go in for back tyres soon I'll take it to kwik fit, they usually give a full printout when they do a alignment check

Ok. My guess is that either the wishbone or the shock strut will be bent and you'll scrub the inner edge off the tyre pretty quickly. That's what happened on a Mk6 I bought after a minor knock. Couldn't see it by eye but took it for alignment after the tyre scrubbed and the camber reading was well off.

Great more money to spend, ive had nothing but bad luck with this car ive lost 2 tyres on the front drivers side to pot holes in the last 6 months. My back drivers side tyre got a massive peice of swarfe lodged in it a week ago that's got a mushroom repair in for the moment and I had a wing mirror took off by some ***** in a audi. Everyone's telling me im not supposed to have it and these are signs lol but I love it and im keeping it

So i finally got a day without rain this weekend and got out and fitted the replacement radpack and crash bar, popping the radiator and intercooler was fairly easy needed two pairs of hands to get it all on together. Bolted the bar onto the chassis legs then started securing the rad pack to the crash bar.... one of the brackets is was off everything is sat where its supposed to be but this one bracket is not sitting flush and isn't in line with the slam pack im fuming
