Disable blown bulb warning

Featured Replies

Hi, I fitted LED headlight bulbs to my 2012 Mondeo but now have continuous warning on the dash about blown bulbs. I logged in with forscan but the only function it shows is global closing. Where is the blown bulb warning function located so as I can disable it because I can't find it anywhere ?

Thanks for any help.

Welcome!
I suspect as this is a legal requirement it shouldn't be disabled (am I boring, or what? - don't answer that!)
However I also think that there is a way to add a resistor to allow a little more current to flow which fools the system into thinking the bulb is OK.
However, however, the effect of a real bulb failure is unknown to me, therefore I'd wait for an expert to come along and really consider the safety issues, even if a global alert delete was possible (the number of drivers going round with lights off is worrying in the extreme, well, at least to me!)

I have this issue on my 2011 mk4 mondeo, despite buying canbus error free led H1's ,tried 2 different brands, and both the same.

swapping the bulbs round makes no difference, still says drivers headlight failure. albeit not all the time.

Ive found it doesnt happen so often if at all, if you switch the headlights on before starting the car. but thats less than ideal.

Have had to remove them and stick to candles.

Aside from that, the beam pattern was useless, and would get flashed by oncoming traffic.
