Mk7 Ford fiesta UK 2012

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My 2012 mk7 Ford fiesta has abs light and traction control light on. Scanner picked up ABS rear driver side fault. New ABS sensor fitted and wheel barring. No rear driver side lights and no rear abs sensor. Any ideas very much appreciated

Tail lights shouldn't be connected to ABS sensors at all.

I think the light fault is a coincidence. Unless you've got mice at the back of the car chewing through multiple wires.

Sounds like you'll need to test the wiring from the light back to the BCM and from the ABS sensor back to the ABS module. If that's above your current skill level then it'll be a job for an auto-electrician.

Thank you for your reply, checked all cables and connection and fuses .

No problem. With respect though, I'm not sure that can be correct. If you're telling me you've got full voltage and a good earth at the light cluster then the lights should be on. Is it all of the bulbs on that side, including brake and indicator, or just the driving light?

Same applies to the ABS sensor. If the wiring is good between that and the module then the sensor itself is faulty, or the wheel bearing was installed backwards.

Aren't the rear bearings sealed units?

Could it just be a non abs unit has been fitted?

Hi all after hour's off checking I found the problem. After removing the inner card from inside. Mice chewed through multiple wires including abs and rear lights. I done a temporary fix and everything works now. Now for the next question do I replace the loom or use connectors
