I am trying to get back on the road. My hand break works but the foot break does not. I have tried bleeding the breaks but can’t get the nipples open, I have tried WD40, but can’t get it to move. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

There are better release agents than WD40. Plusgas is one.

Even that may not be enough though. If you can heat up the caliper around the nipple then that's usually the most effective option. Best left to a garage really but I appreciate that might not be logistically feasible with the car off the road.

Thank you for your advice .I did try some heat on the nipple in the past but it did not help but I will try again with Plusgas and heat it for a longer time as I was concerned that I could over heat and damage the seal or pipe work.

You might want to take the opportunity to restore the calipers

Change the main seals and while the pistons are out drill the nipples out and fit new ones and flush the debris out before rebuilding

Or just buy new calipers👍🏻
