Installing heated seat kit

Featured Replies

I just did a quick search to see if anybody had asked or answered this before but even though there are threads, I didn't really feel that I 'got it'.

In a nutshell, my girlfriend is always moaning that her 2015 Fiesta Style doesn't have heated seats so I decided to buy a kit to install them for her. I actually bought a kit for my car as well - more so that I could do a practice run on my car first but no doubt I will appreciate them when fitted. The description of all these kits says that they are easy and I thought the hardest part was going to be getting the pads into the seats but having received them and found that there are no instructions, the wiring is now a bit of a concern.

Some kits seem to use fuse taps but this one looks like it uses direct connection with ring terminals. I've installed a USB charger and SatNav using fuse taps but I'm not sure that would be such a good idea for four (2x seat + 2x back) heating pads which I'm guessing could draw a bit of current. Has anybody any experience doing this with a non-ST Fiesta (I get the impression that ST Fiestas may already have the required looms installed but may be wrong)?

Okay, well no replies.

If anybody reads this, perhaps they can help with this question which might help me solve the original question.

On my glove compartment fuse box, there is a 20a fuse for a rear accessory socket but there is no rear accessory socket. I had looked thinking that if there was no fuse, perhaps I could put one in and use that feed but as there is one anyway, where can I pick up power from it? Do I have to remove the fuse box to access the terminals?
