Front NS brake prob.

Featured Replies

Fiesta Tit 1ltr ecoboost 2014 30k on clock. bit of a shunt AUG 25 front NS, bloke pulled out from side road, needed complete front, wheel didn't appear to be part of the collision??. After my heavy braking I guess the collision speed about 5 to 10 mph, no airbag. Few weeks back braking became fairly viscious NS.

Symptoms-

Parked facing downhill slight gradient, handbrake off, starts to roll, pedal on, almost instant halt, pedal off, few secs later creaking from NS brake then brake releases then fine until next pedal.

Any help much appreciated.

Is the caliper/piston seized?
Is it just a coincidence although severe braking would move it more than usual?
Check all sliding surfaces and pistons for free movement?
Notice my question marks...

Cheers, garage reckoned it was a flexi-pipe to the caliper maybe flattened. Had it replaced, still the same. Cars eh?

Flexible pipe "flattened" when it has a very high pressure inside, I can't see that being anywhere near right without some nefarious explanation, Ha Ha!

I'd find another garage and get them to check the system.
