Ford fiesta clunk noise

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I’ve got a 2013 Ford Fiesta with just under 125,000 miles. It’s been the most reliable car I’ve owned and hasn’t really given me any issues.

Recently, I’ve started noticing an intermittent clunk noise when setting off. It only seems to happen when I select first gear and begin lifting the clutch. Once I’m moving and go through the other gears, everything feels normal – no noises, no slipping, and no performance issues.

It doesn’t happen every time, just occasionally when pulling away.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Is this something I should be concerned about, or could it be something minor?

More than likely the dogbone lower gearbox mount. After 125k the rubber will be split, i did one on a 2012 with 110k last week. It was completely knackered, but the original Ford one

This one, easy to change with 4 bolts. Just need to be under the car obviously 🤣
