Transit VM series

Hi from 'down under' Brisbane Queensland

Own a 2011 Transit van as a small motorhome. Generally very happy but continuing 'small niggles' which local Ford dealers are not experienced, generally almost proud that vehicles over 10 years old are not obliged to be familiar with??

Need to get to know someone with some experience , currently a problem with ABS and BCM coms problem on the CAN bus.

If there's a problem on the CAN bus i.e. communication issues, there should be some codes (what are they?)
"WE" recommend Forscan and a lead or dongle (also mentioned in multiple posts on here)
The normal strategy is to start by disconnecting modules on the same bus until the communication fault goes away (especially if it is dragging the entire bus down - need an oscilloscope on the CAN leads to see the state of the signal.
If it can be narrowed down to a specific module, that needs to be tested /repaired.
If all modules are disconnected and/or the fault can't be found then the resistances to Earth and between the CAN wires needs testing.
There is also a way to test the CAN system itself via the OBD port using a multimeter to check resistances (there are resistor packs at the ends of the bus) so if the results aren't correct then there's a problem with that.
I'm not (can't) be too specific here as I am unsure myself and don't know how much you can do or your tech.

Diagnose Dan is a good place to look for detailed diagnostic info and there are lots of others:

Really need more details and history to narrow things down
