electrical / starter problem

Featured Replies

Here's a good one! My 2017 fiesta has had various electrical issues the last few years. I've had to disconnect the tire speed sensor as it was messing up the transmission for whatever reason. I've never had it resolved. Anyway, I digress. This latest electrical problem is messing with the speed reading hand and the rpm reading hand while driving. One or the other will randomly fluctuate then correct itself. Yesterday after getting fuel, my car wouldn't start. Not only would it not start, the dash lights never came on when the key was in the on position. After several attempts, the dash lit up and the car started. This am it started fine. Then again when I left to come home. I had errands on the way and when I got back into the car the same thing happened. It took many more attempts to get it to realize the key was in the ignition and started the car. I tried disconnecting the battery for over a min and that did nothing. When I got home, I tried the code reader but it only said the catalyst, which wouldn't have anything to do with this problem. I noticed a slight wind down sound when I turn the key from on to off. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!! TIA

Ignition switch.
