Heating problem.

Morning all,

I have just gone out to start the Fiesta and have this display.

There is plenty of water in the car. It hasn't been out for a couple of days, so was stone cold.

The radiator cooling fan comes on straight away as well.

Any ideas?

Coolant temp sensor, probably.

Update.

So I have unplugged the electrical connection off of the temp. sensor and turned the male part of the electronic connection in the sensor, should this be loose?

I cannot get it to wind up tight. Reconnecting the electrical plug to the sensor and starting the engine the red water sign on the dash has gone out and the temperature gauge has stopped flashing. The amber engine management sign is still lit though.

I have disconnected the battery and reconnected it but the amber light is still lit.

Any suggestions/advice will be appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

Mike.
