Spark plug gap size

Featured Replies

Hello I have some new Irridium NGK spark plugs but not sure what the gap setting is if you can help?

MK8 ST Line X 2019

The spark plug is a NGK SILZNAR8C7H

Thanks

Hi,

It's not recommended to gap iridium plugs as they can be damaged easily.

They should be supplied with the correct gap already. I believe it's 0.7mm for 1.0 EcoBoost.

Oh that's interesting. I can't say by how much but it will affect top end performance and potentially emissions as well.

It's your choice whether to try and gap them carefully or whether to return them for a different set.

If you have a plug gapping tool with a notch to bend the outer electrode, there is no danger of damaging the plug.
