Stage 1 map

Featured Replies

Has anyone had a stage 1 map on thier edge? Mine is the 238bhp engine was wondering if slightly better fuel economy and performance

If you want economy, don't buy a 238 horsepower car. If you want performance don't buy a vehicle weighing 1.8 tons with the frontal area of the Albert Hall.

Ford will have done their best but if you think you will get more performance and economy by tuning iit, you are due for disappointment. Using the extra power will use more fuel so that won't work.

Perhaps the car you have is not ideally suited to your needs ?

Yeah you won't get MPG gains on a petrol remap

Only Diesel (good) remaps are good for that.

Keep it serviced, change the air filter element to a freer flowing one, run on super unleaded, reduce carrying weight and keep the tyres well inflated and you may gain a couple of MPG

Thanks for the reply, its a diesel, love the car , it was just a thought tbh , and wondering if it was worth it

They didn't do a 238 diesel, that's why I presumed you were Petrol

They only did 150, 180 and 210

Which one are you?

But that changes things a bit.

Consider an ECO remap, that gives the torque increases and throttle response but they are mapped for good economy at partial throttle when cruising and can save up to 10% MPG.

But you still need to run on good quality diesel making sure you a regenning the DPF fully and changing the oil often.

I also strongly recommend running with ARCHOIL AR6900 DMAX, you will also gain a few MPG from that when used in conjunction with above

I have an X2 BMW with a 2.0 Diesel but tuned at 18d level so getting 150PS and 350NM running with ARCHOIL.

I'm averaging 55MPG and it's more than nippy enough

UK Edges are all diesel. They did put a 238ps bi-turbo EcoBlue in these.

Hi again,

From 2019 they upped the bhp to 238bhp, my model is the st line, and definitely diesel, ive had diesels for quite a few years now, hence the question regarding a map, was thinking probably not worth it as its a big heavy car and wouldn't make a huge difference, I will be using the premium diesel as you said, and will look into archoil. Thanks

Don't waste your money on super diesel if you're using archoil
