Does my Fiesta have a wet belt or chain?

Featured Replies

Hi. I’ve just bought a used 2018 Fiesta 1.0 ecoboost and I am unsure whether it has a wet belt or chain. Is there anyone that can advise how I find out without having to take it to a garage to check? Thanks

Solved by TomsFocus

2018 will definitely be wetbelt.

The easiest way to confirm is by looking for the turbo. If you can see it right at the front of the engine then it's wetbelt. If you can't see the turbo then it's chain.

Here is what it looks like under the hood. So this would be wet belt, right?

Yes, that's wetbelt.

It's also missing all of the turbo heatshield so take care not to burn yourself when the engine's hot.
