72 plate Fiesta 4 year service

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Hope you can help i have just had my 72 plate fiesta in for its 4 year service at local lookers ford service centre as they are no longer a ford dealer but still authorised to service ford vehicles.

Just wanted to know if its correct that they charge to flush the brake fluid and obviously put new one in as paying £550 for a major service and not having it included and to upsell it at £88 is abit shocking.

By looking at the ford app and service interval tab that its under extended period maintenence and i will quote it now surely that means it should have been done at this service as it was 2 years since the last one.

  • Brake system -- Every 2 years - Renew brake fluid (LTS 12 154 4) Notice: Vehicles with ABS system, and specially Vehicles with Electronic Brake Booster (EBB) always require FDRS to be used for brake fluid change/brake bleeding (LTS 29 099 1). Bleeding the system without FDRS will result in braking or EBB failures. See FordPTS Brake Section D&O and General procedures for more details

Brake fluid is an additional optional extra. It is not included in the scheduled service as standard.

How much each garage decides to charge is up to them. I agree £88 is expensive.
