Wet belt enquiry

Featured Replies

Hi all, would anyone be able to tell me if this engine has a wet belt or chain belt please? Its a 19 plate fiesta ecoboost. Im only at 50k miles but if it has a wet belt i'll look into booking it in for a change. Thank you

That's very early. A bit more info would be interesting - how old was the car at the time, had she had it from new, service history, etc?

She had it from new as a lease car and bought it after the lease ended. FSH seven months later it went.

What a bummer! Presumably as a lease car that would have been the Ford recommended 2 year/18,000 mile interval?

Yes mate.

A lot of people have been in a similar position and would be interested if you got any joy from Ford over this.

The 2 year/18,000 interval was introduced for the Mk 8 Fiesta (previously annual). When I bought my 1.0 in 2018 I made enquiries as to what changes had been made to.engine or oil spec to permit this and could find none. I stuck with annual changes, as did many others on here.
