FF Eco Boost 1.0 wants Reversing Camera & Screen fitting

Featured Replies

Hi, I really would like a reversing Camera ( and screen on dash) for my Ford Fiesta Eco Boost 1.0

It is 2017 model and so missed this feature being fitted by 1 year. ( on the up side £35/year Road Tax , so...)

I saw some claiming to be sutable and sized specifically for Eco Boost 1.0, said they go into the hole already there for the rear number plate light. £24.95 .They were on E-bay, now they have dropped that claim from their description. Its a 9 year old car. I love it, but when i bought it, ( aged 3) they said an extra £550 to retrofit into the dash and said see how you get on.

I would just like a relatively inexpensive way to get reversing camera and screen fixed. That doesnt involve

1) Drilling more holes in the car

2) Interior wiring hanging about

I'm interested to hear how other people have done this, and what they would reccomend please?

All comments gratefully received. My area is Somerset/Dorset

Thank You

Hi Ricky

Thanks for answering.

I dont have an inbuilt screen on the dash.

I do have : Menu, Sync Settings,Bluetooth On,Install Sync options on the very small LCD display on the Dashboard, Why?

Hi Amanda

I was trying to see if I could help with camera install but your very limited with that setup.

I wish you all the best and hopefully you can find an answer.

Ricky

Hi,

Have the wetbelts been done yet?

If not, maybe worth considering an upgrade to a Mk8 Fiesta with the features that you would like rather than paying out for a belt change and camera retrofit.

Certainly a much better screen/camera set up on the Mk 8 but it still wasn't standard on all versions, so would need to choose a car carefully.

And of course the Mk 8/8.5 still needs cam and/or oil pump wet belt change at 10 years so just pushing back the evil day, unfortunately.

(If a swap was considered, and a 2 pedal car is a requirement, a Toyota Yaris might be worth a look - reverse camera standard on all.versions.)

There have been plenty of diy guides on here over the years, such as below, but it doesn't look that easy to those of us who have difficulty changing a light bulb!

Well, Thanks everyone. Ive had the belt done already, to those who asked.

Ive seen a blue tooth rear camera that links to reversing lights and a stick up screen. about £60 on E-Bay.

Im going to look into if theres a returns policy for unsuitable item, then see if this will work for me.

I really appreciate all your input.

Thanks.

You won't want to swap cars after that expense, then!

Do let us know how you get on with the Ebay find.
