Oil,filter and plugs.

Featured Replies

Looking at doing a oil and filter change and put some fresh plugs.

There are so many to choose from.

Its a 1.6 Ti-vct 2011 titanium,only 50k,what would you recommend,it does very local/small journeys.

Genuine Ford plugs👍

Go to a Ford parts dept to get them

Whatever the recommended oil is

You may as well get the oil & air filters from Ford too, there won't be much in it

Cheers mate, thanks for the fast reply.

As above Genuine FoMoCo parts.

Spark plugs - 1787829

Air filter - 1729860

L shaped pad oil filter in bottom of air box (from pcv breather) - 1541513

There are multiple alternate part numbers for the oil filter though.

Hi,I have ordered the Genuine ford/castrol 5L oil 5w30.

Also the ford oil filter, just have plugs to look at,the air filter looks very clean,I put a Bosch one in last time and pollen filter.

For another option, I chose Shell Helix Ultra Pro AF 5W30 (around 30 GBP) and MANN W7008 (around 8 GBP) for my 1.6 Ti.

I also decided to get Denso Iridium TT spark plugs. ITV20TT 4719 for 35 GBP.

Opinions will vary. Mine's been running well on the above for 34k miles.

Hi,I got me the ford/castrol magnatec 5w 30 and ford oil filter, was looking at them plugs, seem a good price.

I only do local driving so dont know if it will help on fuel (what is says).

The main advantage of iridium plugs is that they last a very long time; 100k miles. So they work out cheaper. If the spark is cleaner, burn more efficient etc. etc. then that's additional benefit.
