2009 Fiesta Rear-parking sensor problem

Hello,

I've recently bought a 2009 Fiesta which has factory installed rear parking sensors which do not work. When I put the car into reverse there's a 3 second tone and 6 short beeps going out from the rear speaker, which seems to be a "Common sensor VBatt circuit" fault according to the information I have found on these forums.

Any chance somebody could give me more information what steps I could take to remedy this fault? I am confused about where to start.
