Tight Gear Change

Featured Replies

Hi all

Just wondered if anyone can offer advice/experience of the following.

Fiesta 2023 1.0 Ecoboost MHEV 21k.

Is it normal.for the gearbox to feel tight? I have owned the car for nearly 2 years and it seems to be stiffer than when I first got it. It does eventually get smoother after a while driving but until then can be stiff shifting into all gears.

In previous cars shifting into 1st or 1st to 2nd could be stiff but not 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th like this is. 2nd to 3rd sometimes feels like it needs a proper shove.

Does this sound normal and would you expect it to loosen up with age?

Cheers for any info
