Just had a quote from my independent for a belt and water pump. £530.

This sounds rather a lot to me....can I ask what other people have paid?

Car is 10 years old, 32k but has never been done. Having had a citroen let go years ago I want to get it done asap.

That is a totally fair price.

This job involves:

- Approximately 6 Hours of labor.
- Timing belt kit consisting of the timing belt, belt tensioner and crankshaft/camshafts pulley bolts.
- Auxiliary belts (most likely 2 different belts on this type of engine).
- Water pump.
- Coolant.


In my opinion £530 is rather cheap.

I paid £375 3.5 years ago, so as @JW1982 said, that seems a fair price.

This was a quote I got last year, reliable garage, still haven't had our 10 plate done yet.
