battery saver mode on Ford Pass connect?>???

Featured Replies

When I acquired a used Focus 1.0 ecoboost mhev 125 active edition on 11 may, the Ford agent who delivered the car showed me how to install the Ford Pass Connect and how to use it. However when I opened the app this afternoon i saw the following

battery saver mode.png

can anyone shed any light on this ?

I normally make a couple of trips in the week maybe totalling about 30 miles?

Battery saver is triggered every time the battery charge drops below a set point. It basically turns off the modem inside the car to save power.

I bought one of these brand new and it was in battery saver mode from the day it was delivered... Wouldn't worry about it. You can see everything you need to on the dash when you get in the car anyway.

if the app/ battery is SO sensitive to a certain set point what on earth is the point of the app? As you said, everything can be viewed once inside the car. Another app sucking up valuable memory on my phone- time to delete it

thanks

Indeed. I've never bothered with it, though Ford dealer staff seemed to push it quite hard at one point.

Mine too. The app gathers data which Ford presumably sell to the highest bidder...

The App is a great thing if you park in a strange town and are having trouble locating your car. This has happened to me a few times after driving around in circles looking for a parking space in a town that I'm not familiar with, just don't give it permission to access your Phone's Location though.

You used to be able refresh the App which was useful if you had a slow puncture and wanted to check if you needed to pump your tyre up from the comfort of your house before leaving on a cold and wet winter morning but you can't do that now.

Yes. Where I come from they used to mine coal, now everyone's mining your data. Its amazing how many companies/organisations try to push you into apps.

(That underlining still keeps appearing!)

Did you post that from a phone or tablet?

The link is data.it so it looks like you've started a new sentence without a space and your device has added the space, but not quickly enough to prevent the auto-link happening. I haven't seen it happen to anyone else for weeks so I think it must be something to your device.

For reference, mine does give the option to remove the link - data.it

A-ha! Tablet. I do get that option but thought it only applied when deliberately posting a link. Should have anticipated the device thinking something was a link! Only happened since the forum update, though, and only on this site, not had it elsewhere.

Going back to topic, I suspect the usual Mk 4 Focus battery problems will occur at only 30 miles a week. Time to shop for a smart battery charger if not already got one!
