Focus 1.6Tdci Est. Running Problems On '55'plate

RED 'cog '!'' icon displayed. diagnosis not clear. changed egr valve and rocker breather cover (rubber diaphram holed or perished) standing revs only up to 3.5 then flattens out....(

Lots of blue/white smoke emitted under revs. normal running emissions ok.

EGR........ changed under advice from ford agent Original cost £112 when ordered went up to £224 due to modification. possible problems with previous model. This is an exchange unit.

NO change after fitting

Rocker cover. .... Round cap (clip fitting) to right of oil filler cap when removed revealed rubber diaphram which appeared to have holes on rim. This diaphram is not available as spare if found faulty, replacement unit costs £125.

No change after fitting.

Has anybody experienced similar problem and if so what was the solution.
