Ka 1997 Central Locking - Locking & Unlocking Problem

Featured Replies

At present I have a problem with the central locking. Usually it opens first time but at the moment I can't open the drivers side (only a small amount sometimes) so to get in the car I have to open the passenger side and before the locks start unlocking and locking by themselves I have to pull the door open v. quickly to get in. Once inside the doors lock and the only way I can get out is through the passenger side. I am just worried I shall get locked in there one day.

Has anybody ideas of what this might be, how much its going to cost me or hopefully if I can fix it myself?

Cheers for any help given.

Disconnect the connectors at the cars A pillars, you will probably find the electrical pins have corroded and gone green, this is common and will cause the locks to re-cycle. You can repair the pins but they are difficult to remove.Hope this helps you, Jouxy.
